For over 40 years, Somerlap Pallets have been manufacturing and supplying high quality, reconditioned and new pallets to customers across a wide variety of business sectors.

A pivotal moment leading up to Somerlap’s creation was when Kevin Bond became Managing Director of Ubley Sawmills Ltd after completing his Diesel Mechanic Apprenticeship in 1982. In 1991, he acquired a 5-acre sawmill at Mark, near Highbridge in Somerset. The site needed substantial investment, and the early years were financially challenging, particularly during the recession of the early 1990s.

However, Kevin’s strategic investments in machinery and site development proved successful. As a result, working conditions improved, and the business expanded its product range to include pallets, fencing, sheds, and garden furniture. Directors Steve Fraser and Ray Pritchard were also key contributors to Somerlap’s success over its history.
